7 Rock Drum Fills for Beginners (Drumeo)

• Experiment with different patterns of full-bar, half-bar, and quarter-bar fills
• #1 - Remember that playing nothing and crashing in a solid fill
• Try hitting both left and right cymbals on your crash of beat one (but not always, just something to practice)
• Start your beat with closed hi-hat and left crash on beat one
• #4 - Bonham triplet (two bass-drums in a row to get beat one at the end)
• #5 - Half-bar fills can often be more effective. Only on beats 3/4, not an entire measure
• #5 - Quarter-bar fills don't just have to be played before a chorus. You can throw them in during a verse or wherever to change things up a bit or add a little spice to the beat
